Respectful Hypocrites: Communicating your feelings

This week is about communicating your feelings when it may come with repercussions. Are you made to feel guilty when you speak your mind? Are you holding it all in because you’d rather not deal with being blamed? Many parents say do as I say not as I do and it is wrong. If you speak your mind about what you see your other half doing, you are teaching your children to stand up for what is right. Teach your children to speak up when they are being hurt or feeling conflicted. Also, testing out a little segment of news stories each week based on a life lesson taught in my younger years. What not to discuss at the dinner table!

    1. one thing I have found is how I communicate. In the past, I found that I approached it in the same manner with my spouse as I do my children, and that made the communication slightly patronizing to him. Now I talk to my children and my spouse the same, yet in an adult manner. My children respond far better because they see far more respect in my tone and my husband is being respected as an adult. I still have issues obviously as many marriages do with my spouse, but the greatest change has been communicating with my children!

  6. An attention-grabbing discussion is worth comment. I feel that it is best to write more on this matter, it might not be a taboo subject but generally persons are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
